About the Resources

As a teacher, sometimes we can’t always be with our class due to illness, meetings, family emergencies or professional development, or sometimes we are teaching students remotely. But preparing for these lessons can be more work than being at school! The History Detective Podcast is here to help.

History Detective Podcast is available wherever you get your podcasts.

History Detective Podcast it a teaching resource written specifically for Middle Years and High School students. Each episode is between 10-20 minutes and contain an original song written for the episode. The worksheets are designed to work in tandem with the episodes and foster critical historical thinking skills.

The students engage in pre-listening vocabulary and work through the questions that are based around the historical concepts of analysis and evaluation.

This is a classroom ready, online friendly podcast that aligns with history curriculums.

Biography

Kelly Chase is the host, writer, researcher, song writer,  musician, composer, sound engineer, producer of History Detective Podcast. 

Before falling in love with teaching, Kelly worked in children’s entertainment and wrote and performed songs in the Indie folk music scene.

Kelly has been working in education since 2003. She began her career in education teaching English in Japan before heading to China to teach English. Since 2011 she has been teaching history in Australia.

Kelly is a life long learner and what she loves most about teaching history is the opportunity to continue to learn every day.
